The Institute strives to open minds and present students with opportunities for free inquiry and meaningful public debate of important political issues, such as the upcoming presidential election. Students from St. Olaf will contribute regularly to Oles on the Election, a blog hosted on the website of the state’s largest newspaper, the Star Tribune.
These student bloggers study a variety of subjects, from economics and political science to nursing and philosophy. Some are part of the PACON program studying American public policy. Some are international students from Peru, Indonesia, and Venezuela while others are studying abroad themselves. These participating students, brought together by The Institute, will blog about their diverse perspectives and offer in-depth analyses of the current presidential race.
“I look forward to a rich set of contributions by these Oles on the Election,” said Edmund Santurri, Director of The Institute and Professor of Religion and Philosophy at St. Olaf College.View the Blog
